TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Eastern Wyoming College Men's Basketball is thrilled to announce the addition of Poet Davis, a dynamic 5'11" guard from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Poet is a transfer from Lake Region State University (North Dakota), and he brings a winning pedigree, explosive scoring ability, and a strong academic background.

In 2023-24, Poet led Minneapolis South HS to the highly coveted Minnesota State Tournament (3A). At Minneapolis South, Poet was an All-Conference and All City player that scored over 1500 points while maintaining a 3.8 GPA.

At Lake Region State, Poet led the Royals in scoring as he lit up the MonDak Conference for 15.5ppg a night.

"We are excited about the addition of Poet, as he adds scoring and a gritty toughness on the defensive end," said Head Coach Bill Engel. "Poet is a team-first guy who is committed to excellence both on and off the court."
