Toney Collins Jr, a 6'3" multidimensional two sport athlete, from Wellington High School (Wellington, FL), has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Eastern Wyoming College.
On the gridiron, Toney was a standout tight end and defensive end; on the hardwood he was an outstanding basketball prospect that has great diversity in his game.
On the court, Toney competed at the varsity level for two years and was a key contributor to one of the top public-school programs in south Florida. In those two years, Wellington went 42-12; making deep playoff runs both years. In 2023-24 Toney was named to the Sun Sentinel All-Palm Beach County – First Team.
Toney's athleticism and multifunctionality will allow him to play inside/out and guard 1-5; his physicality will provide flexibility to the Lancer line-up as he will be counted on to be an impact player on both ends of the court. Toney's ability to stretch the floor and physical play will make him a match-up challenge around Region IX. Coupled with the incoming freshman and returners, the Lancers have the potential strength needed to compete at the top of the region.
